Most VESPA scooters have been exposed to just about every kind of weather type in their respective lifetimes. From the odd arctic blizzard to the occasional saharan sand storm (with salty sea air), scooters can experience it all. The
seats
are usually the worst affected by all of this environmental erosion. They become sun bleached, start to crack up and eventually tear. With every new rain shower the now exposed foam innards of the seat soaks up so much water that you are guaranteed a wet pair of trousers in the seating area, everytime you want to ride your scooter. By this time at least, it’s time for a new seat!

The seat opening mechanisms of these varying seats are operated using either a key lock, a lever or a button located at the rear of the seat. The seats equipped with a seat strap are cleared for use with pillions in some mainland european countries.
