12 Volt Heated Grip Pad Kit for Scooters, ATVs, & Dirt Bikes
SPREAD THE LOVE
Description
Whether you call this innovative item a handlebar grip heater or a scooter hand warmer, there is no longer any reason to put up with frozen fingers again this winter. With a 12 Volt Heated Grip Pad Kit for scooters, ATVs, dirt bikes, (and a minimal application of entry-level DIY elbow grease); you can now winterize your scooter’s thumb throttle handlebar grips and make your ride a whole lot more comfortable.
This innovative kit uses your 12 volt battery power to produce about 10 Watts of electrical warmth. Your grips stay warm; your hands stay warm. Some very handy and useful handlebar grip heaters or scooter hand warmers indeed.
Here’s what you get:
2 heat shrink tubes
2 heated pads (left right) with about 16″ of cable
1 roll of adhesive tape
1 On/off switch
Installation instructions:
A.
Carefully remove your old handlebar grips. Sometimes you need to warm them up a bit first and then really twist to get them off.
B.
Wrap the heater pads tightly onto the handlebars. Use the included adhesive tape to secure them down, especially on the connecting points.
C.
Slide the heat shrink tubes over the heater pads and adjust to right where you want them.
D.
First use a heat gun to heat up the two crease lines on the tube until they shrink down evenly. Then heat the tube all around until the two black shrink tubes are evenly tight.
E.
Connect the power supply wires to your scooter’s the main power cable. A good connecting spot is near the key switch cylinder, but every scooter or ATV is different.
F.
With the key and current OFF, attach the On/Off button switch. This may be done quickest by just unscrewing one of your mirrors, sliding the button tab over the threaded hole, and rescrewing the mirror mount back on.
So if a little do-it-yourself/some-assembly-required doesn’t scare you, this is the very best way to keep your hands warm while running down the winter highway or out on dirt track.
Note:
This Heated Grip Pad Kit is for scooters, ATVs, dirt bikes using
thumb throttles only.
It will not work on handlebars that use twist grip throttles!
