This upper mounting for the rear shock absorber by CLAUSS STUDIOS represents a reinforced, stiffer version of the original damping rubber.It has an outer metal frame for the rubber which is bolted to the chassis. This extra hole has to be drilled next to the existing hole, but towards the front of the scooter. The shock absorber mounting itself is made of polyurethane. This assembly allows the shock absorber to retain its rubber damper, while the extremely solid connection can no longer be adversely affected by worn or damaged suspension dampers.
